HISTORY

The Crosshands Angling Club is a friendly fishing club, situated in the heart of the West Country, offering excellent fishing in Avon and Gloucestershire for all types of fishermen on a wide range of fishing lakes and rivers.

Formed in the early 1960’s, by some enthusiastic fishermen who used to stop off for a pint on the way home at the Crosshands pub in Winterbourne Down. To this day our club still holds its meeting at the pub and we have grown over the years into what it is today, an angling club of around 300 members.

We have a fantastic choice of Six fishing lakes and a stretch of the River Avon and the River Frome. Our waters can accommodate all types of coarse anglers including Match Anglers and Carp Anglers – not forgetting a large group of anglers who fish purely for pleasure with a wide choice of Mirror, Common and Crucian Carp as well as exceptional Roach, Tench, Perch, Bream and Chub.

Our whole philosophy is based on Members taking responsibility for the care of the superb natural environments which surround our waters. So you will see very few distracting signs and notices, with well constructed but sympathetic swims and pegs.

So don’t just put your toe in the water-get hooked up with the Crosshands Angling Club!
