RIVER FROME WINTERBOURNE
River Frome-Winterbourne The Crosshands Angling Club has a small stretch of river water front on the River Frome at Winterbourne.
6 solid metal platforms have been constructed along the river bank with some additional areas which have been cleared to assist anglers with accessing this stretch of river.
As with all club waters no radios are allowed and no night fishing, and the stretch of river is often patrolled by the land owner who report any suspicious instances to the club committee. Detailed rules here on the members page.
RANGE OF FISH
Fish which can be caught here include Chub, Roach, Perch, etc. This is a lovely spot , with wild ducks and Kingfishers flying up and down the river, this area is also used by dog walkers and as such we expect that all club members using this stretch of river will remove all discarded materials with them at the end of thier fishing session.
Parking can be found near the crosshands public house and anglers will need to walk back down the hill towards Damsons Bridge. As you cross over Damsons Bridge On the Left hand side there is a public footpath which will take you along the river frome. Crosshands angling club fishing rights are clearly marked by additional club signs, but fishing rights are from the first bend up to the footbridge which crosses the river, on the RHS of the Bank. The River varies in depths but light tackle is adviseable due to the walk to arrive at the club marks.
